# Market Lifecycle

Follow a prediction from creation through payouts to see how every step works on Token-Poly.

## 1. Create

* Choose the pump.fun token mint, metric (market cap or 24h volume), comparator (≥ or ≤), target value, and end time
* Provide initial liquidity split evenly between YES and NO so traders see fair odds from the first vote
* Initial liquidity signals confidence, narrows spreads, and unlocks the 2% creator fee once others participate

## 2. Vote

* Wallets can back either YES (side 0) or NO (side 1) with at least 0.01 SOL
* A single wallet can vote only once per market; once your transaction lands, the stake is locked until resolution or cancellation
* Each vote is split instantly:
  * **1%** platform fee
  * **2%** creator fee
  * **97%** added to the chosen pool

## 3. Countdown

* Markets stay **Active** until the scheduled `end_time`
* Pool totals update in real time so you can monitor sentiment
* Cancellations are disabled after launch, so the market always resolves once the timer expires

## 4. Resolve

* After `end_time`, the backend fetches live token data from Dexscreener
* Function type 0 checks market cap, function type 1 checks 24h volume (both in USD)
* The stored comparator and target decide whether YES or NO wins, and the outcome is written on-chain

## 5. Claim

* Winning wallets can claim once the market status is **Resolved**
* Payout formula: `(userStake / winningPool) × losingPool`
* Creators can claim their accumulated 2% fee after resolution—one claim per market

## Need a Refresher?

* Use the **Quick Start** guide for a hands-on walkthrough
* The **Fees & Payouts** reference shows more examples and edge cases
* Creators can explore advanced tips in the **Creator Playbook**
